THE VISION
The homeowner envisioned a cozy, welcoming backhouse that felt intentional and fully functional, despite its smaller footprint. The goal was to create a warm, comfortable retreat with character—one that balanced charm and practicality while still feeling open and inviting.
Unique Space
The finished backhouse feels airy yet intimate, thanks to a vaulted ceiling that adds volume and light. Warm wood floors ground the space and bring a sense of continuity throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped and thoughtfully designed, featuring a farmhouse sink, a central island, and a beautiful backsplash that extends all the way to the ceiling for added visual impact. The bathroom was designed with comfort in mind as well, featuring a dedicated makeup sitting area that adds a thoughtful, personal touch to the overall layout. A mix of stain-grade and paint-grade cabinetry adds depth and interest throughout the space.
